Karen is co-founder of Revers, the Belgian fashion studies network, together with prof. Maude Bass-Krueger.  She also works as a fashion curator with over twelve years experience in institutions like The Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and MoMu, the fashion museum of Antwerp.

She has written and edited over twenty volumes on fashion and writes for critical fashion publications incl. Vestoj, and is a guest lecturer at institutions such as Sotheby's and Parsons New York
