Rick Davy
Rick Davy came to New York from his native Trinidad to learn the ways of the big city and to live out the “American Dream.”
Mr. Davy also worked as a stylist and fashion director for several national and international magazine, along with producing mini fashion form NYC to Baltimore. Later on, a friend brought Davy on board as a stylist for the CBS Talk show “Forgive and Forget” with Mother Love. They later became stylists for the Black Entertainment Television (BET) show “106th and Park,” dressing hosts AJ Calloway and Free for several years. Leveraging his success with the show and the passion, he had for fashion, Mr. Davy along with a friend and collaborator started the BK|Style Foundation in May 2006. In the same year (May 2006), the first Fashion Week Brooklyn (Formerly known as BK Fashion Weekend) show was held in DUMBO at the Tobacco Warehouse, to astounding revues and a full page spread in the NY Times, a first of its kind for a Fashion Week Event in Brooklyn, New York.
The Brooklyn Magazine name Mr. Davy one of the 100 influencers of Brooklyn, he believes in its 15th year Fashion Week Brooklyn and its status as a top five show in the world not sponsored by Mercedes Benz, is poised for a long stretch of partnerships that is deserving of his creativity and commitment to the world’s most diverse borough.
